Treatment
Psychiatric Treatment
Once a child or adolescent is admitted, a staff psychiatrist is assigned to work with him/her from admission to discharge. Within 24 hours of admit, the psychiatrist completes a thorough psychiatric assessment and makes recommendations regarding diagnosis and medications.
The psychiatrist then meets regularly with the primary therapist and the rest of the clinical team to review progress and refine the treatment plan for each patient.

Clinical Philosophy
Willow Springs Center believes that the power for an individual to change lies in the therapeutic relationship. That change can be sustained through the support and active involvement of the child's family (traditional or otherwise). The core values of the therapeutic relationship include compassion, nurturing, unconditional acceptance and support in a positive, non-punitive environment. At Willow Springs Center, we believe that among the most important factors in treatment is the modeling of positive social skills by adult mentors. In our interactions with children, the goal is to instill a sense of value and worth to each individual through listening with an open mind, accepting them for where they are now and acknowledging their positive achievements and individual strengths. We believe that through the adoption of these core values the individual will be empowered to attain their maximum growth and potential.
Continuity of Treatment
Discharge plans for each patient help continue the progress achieved at Willow Springs Center. Discharge planning is coordinated with the patient, the family and the treatment team. The plan addresses the patient's individualized treatment, specifying additional therapy needs and assisting with necessary arrangements for referrals and appointments for aftercare.
